Getting a season in
What do I screenshot?
The box score for a game, as it appears in whatever app your team keeps score in, most often GameChanger. Take as many shots as it takes to get the whole thing. You can overlap them, take the same rows twice, or catch half a table by accident. OnBaseIQ works out which shots belong to the same game and stitches them back together.
Do I have to do them one game at a time?
No. Bring in a whole season's worth at once and they get grouped into games for you. The capture flow walks through it in five steps.
It read a name wrong
Correct it once and OnBaseIQ remembers. Player and club name corrections are learned per team and applied to every import after them, so the same misreading does not come back.
A number looks wrong
Check it against the original box score first. Two different things can be going on. If the printed box score itself is short a row, which happens often because a scorebook is kept by hand at a game, OnBaseIQ will tell you so on the screen where you are reading the figure. We never invent or adjust a number to make a total balance. If the printed box score is right and OnBaseIQ read it wrong, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
Fixing a game that came in badly
Stat lines are not editable by hand, on purpose, because they come straight off the box score and we keep them exactly as printed. To clear a bad import, delete the team and import it again.
Getting the numbers right
ERA looks too high or too low
ERA is worked out over the length of a full game in your league, not the sport's default. Plenty of youth leagues play six innings and most American high school baseball plays seven. OnBaseIQ learns the right figure from your own box scores once a few games are in, and you can set it yourself on the team screen under League.
My team is set to the wrong sport
Open the team, then Sport, and change it. Baseball and softball have different default game lengths, so this moves every ERA. If your box scores already told us the league's real length, correcting the sport will not override what the games said.
What does grading a pitcher do?
It is one slider, once a game, saying how good the arm you faced was. It is what lets the app show you how your lineup does as pitching gets better, which is the difference between a .300 hitter who did it against everybody and one who did it against nobody. Nothing else in the app depends on it, so you can start using it partway through a season.
Your data
Where is my season stored?
On your device, and nowhere else. There is no account, no server and nothing uploaded. It is included in whatever backup your iPhone or iPad already makes. See the Privacy Policy.
I deleted the app and lost everything
Restoring a device backup that predates the deletion is the only route, because we never had a copy. If you are moving to a new phone, restore from your backup and the season comes with it.
Sharing a team with the other parent
Export the team to a file from inside the app and send it however you like. It carries the team's games with it. The file contains children's names, so send it only to people you mean to.
Subscriptions and payment
What does it cost?
OnBaseIQ Pro is 4.99 USD a month or 49.99 USD a year, and your first month is free on both. Lifetime access is 149.99 USD paid once, it does not renew, and it carries no free month. Family Sharing is on for every option.
Cancelling, or turning off renewal
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Turning renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends stops the next charge and you keep access until the period runs out.
Refunds
Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot see or change your purchase history.
I paid and the app still says I am free
Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you are signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not take, email us.
Devices
OnBaseIQ runs on iPhone and iPad, on iOS 17 and later. It covers baseball and softball.
Reporting a bug
Email support@onbaseiq.com with what you expected, what happened, and the team and game it happened on. If a box score was read wrong, the original screenshot helps most. Please crop or say so if you would rather not send real names.
